About Me

Hello, my name is Cassie. I value faith, family and friendships! I am mostly happily married to my handsome number one supporter, Craig, who has been consistently in my life since 1984. Our love has produced 6 beautiful -at times adorable-sometimes unpredicatable-yet always loved children. :-) My five arrows are: Craig Jr., Donovan, Christopher, Daniel and Cameron. My one dove: Desirae. What a blessing from God to be assigned to them all!

From an early age, I could often be found with a pen or pencil in my hand. I can remember one particular time, as if it were yesterday. I was about 4 or 5 years old when I had been disobedient to my mother and she sent me to my room. I sat in my perfectly sized chair, looking around my room and finally gazing upon the plaque on the wall that had my name on it. I gathered my pencil and paper and attempted to write my name. Ever so proudly, I ran to show my mother what I had done for the first time, all by myself. As any mother would, she beamed with excitement and pride…my “time out” was no longer remembered.  Thus began my love of the pen and paper.

In Elementary school, my favorite class was reading and writing.  I enjoyed writing short stories based on what was happening around me.  At age 13, I purchased my first journal. It was a light blue hard back journal with a picture of a small tree. My first story was about a boy and girl who were having relationship problems. When I think back on that day, one thing enters my mind: What kind of relationship problems does a 13 year old have? Shouldn’t she be outside jumping rope, baking cookies with Grandmom or rearranging her Barbie dolls?  Shouldn’t he be playing football with his friends or building some type of gadget with his Dad? Well, if I could rewind the clock to that day…I’d still prefer writing to jumping rope.

By the time I reached my sophomore year in high school, I knew I wanted to be a Journalist and Author. In my Junior year, I signed up for Journalism class and the school newspaper. Senior year, I became the Editor-in-Chief of our school paper. I loved it!! As Editor, the excitement of choosing topics, handing out assignments and editing the articles were one of the highlights of that year. I know it sounds corny but it was my passion. Not only did I have many great opportunities to write, but as God would have it, I met the love of my life in Journalism class. What a double blessing!!  I’ll share more about that later…:-)

I had hoped to write my first Christian novel by my 45th birthday, however, I’ve had a few set-backs. I’m not going to give up just yet, in the meantime, I’ll blog. I prefer the non-fiction genre especially since I’m more of a realist and love to speak ‘truth to power’.

As I continue to “write the vision and make it plain” I know that the Lord will bring it to pass. I hope you are encouraged in some small way as you browse around my little world behind the pen.

“The fact that I am a woman does not make me a different kind of Christian, but the fact that I am a Christian does make me a different kind of woman. For I have accepted God’s idea of me, and my whole life is an offering back to Him of all that I am and all that He wants me to be.”  (Elisabeth Elliott)

    Hey Sanje,

What a wonderfully personal blog. Your openness to life’s trials and blessings will encourage all who read your entries (as it has encouraged me).

I am glad to see you have an outlet for exercising one of your many talents!

Thanks for taking the time to reflect on the Lord’s goodness in your life and sharing that with the world. :-)
